Good Intentions

After quite a good start this blog has been on the back burner - time to get the ball rolling again!

A few months of Christmas, seeing friends and family, my new job and illness haven't left time for much else let alone blogging!
So here's a few highlights from December.

Our small but perfectly formed tree which unfortunately we have had to take down already! We decided to buy a small real one in a pot in the hope that we can use it for years to come but the central heating hasn't been kind to the poor fellow so we felt sorry for it and popped it outside in the rain - hopefully it will make it to next year!

A lot of the decorations we picked up from Bath Christmas market and the ceramic ones were made by my good friend Charlotte who came to stay with us for the weekend.

Present time! We did pretty well at presents this year and managed to pick up some good gifts for our friends and family! Mr. E was very naughty and got me and iPad! Which I totally wasn't expecting as he put on a pretty convincing act of pretending he hadn't got me anything!!

I didn't get to do as much Christmas baking as I would of liked because ive had a rotten cold but I did whip up a batch of gingerbread snowflakes to take into work - I have no idea how they tasted as my nose was blocked but everyone seemed to like them!

I hope everybody had a good Christmas and is looking forward to the new year. My resolutions - getting fit and blogging more!

Making More Space

So me and Mr. E have been living together in bliss for 4 days now. It's so nice to be able to sit in the evenings watching TV and cooking our tea together. All these things we've never been able to do before.

I've got a whole week off between jobs so as well as enjoying a few lie-ins I've been pottering around the house trying to tidy and make more use of the limited space we have. First things first - clearing out my baking cupboard!

It's amazing how much stuff you can accumulate without realising most of it's out of date!

It's looking a lot better now and we have space for real food!

As well as these minor jobs, we're clearing out the spare bedroom. Which to be honest was just being used as a 'dump everything in here' room. Mr. E has been coming home from work about mid-day and cracking on with it and so far so good!

He's pulled up the wooden floor, painted all the walls white and even glossed! I'm hoping he'll be retuning from work with a roll of carpet on the van and as soon as that's done we're off to Ikea for some wardrobe shopping! Poor Mr. E, I bet he didn't think living with a girl would be this much work!

London Highlights

It was Mr. E's birthday back in May and as a present I'd bought him tickets to see Spritualized live in the Royal Albert Hall so off we went last night to see them! And what a treat, fantastic show and a fantastic overnight stay in London!

Here are some of our highlights:

1. Our lovely hotel room, it was actually a 'serviced apartment' and had a little kitchen and everything, very modern and immaculate.

2. A short trip around the Natural History Museum before tea at Coco Momo

3. The gig in the RAH, absolutely brilliant performance and the building itself was just amazing! We were talking about the gig afterwards and realised we might never of gone inside if Spiritualized hadn't been playing there and that would of been such a shame!!

4. London lit up. A stroll back to a few of the bars near the hotel but who knew you couldn't get a drink in Kensington after 11pm on a week-night! Don't worry, we found a hotel with a bar still open!

5. Oh Comely for the train home - bought on a whim because it 'looked interesting' and I was so right! Will definitely be subscribing and if you like art/fashion/quirky things I suggest you do to!

Stretch, Sigh and Yawn

Almost two years of working at my graduate job during the week and rushing around on weekends trying to fit in boyfriend, family and friend time I'm waving goodbye to Northampton and Hello again to home. I'll be moved out, on the road and living with a boy within the fortnight.

Seemingly a good time to start blogging again, I'd actually already decided on a variation of the name and only added the 'Not' when Mr. E suggested that perhaps I shouldn't lie (He also questioned the use of the word 'Nice' but what does he know?).

I'm looking forward to sitting still in somewhere permanent and freeing up some of my lost time for catching up with friends, baking and creating again. And of course the adventures of a new quite challenging job and moving in with the boy I love all make for pretty exciting times (I think some people call it 'growing up'?).

Finally a reason to crack in to the 3 bottles of champagne we've somehow accumulated!
