Frog Update

Frogs aren't all I blog about - promise! But I couldn't resist snapping a few pictures yesterday and this morning. Especially when they sit so proudly at the edge of the pond, almost like they're waiting or us!

Yesterday when I got home from work I was stood in the garden and I noticed some of my flowers had bloomed, when I went for a closer look I could see something moving in amongst them - a baby frog! It's really good news as we were hoping we'd managed to provide them with a good home. Mr. E picked him up and returned him to the pond as we didn't want the dog to get hold of him.

You can just about make out the baby in the above picture, he's in the middle and the larger one is in the bottom left corner. The quality isn't great as I was trying not too get too close as they tend to swim off and also trying to avoid dropping my phone in the pond at the same time.

I did manage l snap some with my DSLR this morning but I'm yet to upload them to anything.

Hope everyone's enjoying the sunshine!

A Frog's Story

Imagine my surprise when Mr. E text me this picture while I was at work today! He'd got out his bike for a ride and this little fella was perched up on his wheel. Goodness knows how long he'd been in there because the bike shed is pretty secure no holes for little frogs to climb through and Mr. E hasn't been out on the bike for over a week.

He popped him back in the pond with the other one. Well we know there are 2 but there could be more! I had a quick look online and apparently a small garden pond with a nice bed of rotten leaves at the bottom is the perfect habitat for the 'common frog' - and there's us planning on clearing it out! We'll have to do a bit more research beforehand I think, we do like the frogs and don't want to scare them off. Any tips will be gratefully received!

Testing, testing...

Just a quick post to test out a new app I've just splashed out £2.99 for - a big decision as I'm not one for paying for apps. It's Blogsy, and hopefully it's a solution to not being able to blog on the iPad. Well, you can but it's a pain trying to upload pictures. So far so good!

Our friends asked me to be Godmother to their beautiful daughter and one of my Godmotherly duties was to make the cupcakes for the Christening. Can you guess the theme?

Hope you've all had a great bank holiday weekend, we've unintentionally managed to miss all of the Jubilee celebrations by spending most of it at the pub! Not sure Her Majesty would approve!

Sad to leave

This is the 4th time I've visited St. Ives in Cornwall and I'm always so sad to leave. I haven't blogged in ages but there's just something about this beautiful tiny town that encouraged me to at least put something down.
We stayed in the most beautiful little cottage right near Porthmeor beach. It was owned by a local artist and the attention to detail was absolutely spot on. By far the best property we've stayed in so far. We ate seafood EVERY evening and drank in bars that overlooked the sea - we were even lucky enough to see a seal swimming around the harbour one night (every time I've been to St. Ives we've seen a seal in the harbour I wonder if it's the same one!) It's my favourite holiday, so relaxed and carefree. We'll always go, every year and I can't wait to go back. I think I'll let the pictures speak for themselves!

Oh and if anyone can tell me an easy way to upload pictures from blogger to iPad please fill me in! I'd definitely be blogging more if I didn't have to juggle between devices (I know.. excuses, excuses)

January Blues? No Thank You!

I don't know about everyone else but I've had quite a few E-mails lately with offers and deals telling me to 'shake away the January blues'. I've got to admit though that this January I'm a pretty happy gal.I picked up these some Dutch Daffs from the fruit and veg shop in Chipping Sodbury, the town I work in. Two bunches for £1.20, enough to brighten up the house for a week. Tomorrow is also the day that one of my best friends Robyn gets married! It's a black tie event and we're looking forward to getting dressed up and having a good old knees up to celebrate the day. Here are the pictures of the cake pops I promised.

I also found out my friend and old flatmate Nicki got engaged this week! And they've already set a date for September this year! February has a lot to live up to!

Home Alone

Day 4 of being abandoned by the Mr. for his boys snowboarding holiday. But don't feel sorry for me, when he returns I only have to wait a few weeks until we're off together to enjoy the snow! And if you're good at Maths you will of worked out that he gets two snow holidays and I just the one! Don't ask me how this has happened because I'm not even sure myself. Here's a picture he sent me, just to rub it in a bit more.

I can't say I've done an awful lot since he's been away. I've stayed at my parents a few nights, me and mum spent the day shopping on Saturday. It's the big countdown to one of my my best friends wedding (next Friday!!!) so i've bought my dress and shoes. She kindly asked me to make the favours for the guests - cake pops so I've been prepping for that. I'm so excited to do it I love baking for grateful eaters. I'll hopefully remember to take some pictures!

I'll finish with a picture of this chap, he's been missing Mr.E terribly, wandering around the house looking for him. Best friends reunited on Saturday!

Good Intentions

After quite a good start this blog has been on the back burner - time to get the ball rolling again!

A few months of Christmas, seeing friends and family, my new job and illness haven't left time for much else let alone blogging!
So here's a few highlights from December.

Our small but perfectly formed tree which unfortunately we have had to take down already! We decided to buy a small real one in a pot in the hope that we can use it for years to come but the central heating hasn't been kind to the poor fellow so we felt sorry for it and popped it outside in the rain - hopefully it will make it to next year!

A lot of the decorations we picked up from Bath Christmas market and the ceramic ones were made by my good friend Charlotte who came to stay with us for the weekend.

Present time! We did pretty well at presents this year and managed to pick up some good gifts for our friends and family! Mr. E was very naughty and got me and iPad! Which I totally wasn't expecting as he put on a pretty convincing act of pretending he hadn't got me anything!!

I didn't get to do as much Christmas baking as I would of liked because ive had a rotten cold but I did whip up a batch of gingerbread snowflakes to take into work - I have no idea how they tasted as my nose was blocked but everyone seemed to like them!

I hope everybody had a good Christmas and is looking forward to the new year. My resolutions - getting fit and blogging more!
